Does insulation really reduce noise?
Yes. Dense insulation like mineral wool absorbs sound inside the wall, so less of it passes through. It works best on interior walls, ceilings and floors between rooms.
What is Roxul?
Roxul (now sold as Rockwool) is a mineral wool insulation. It's denser than standard fiberglass, which makes it good at blocking sound, and it's naturally fire resistant.
Can you soundproof walls that are already finished?
Often, yes. Depending on the wall, we can open it up and install batts, or use a drill-and-fill method. We'll tell you the best option after a look.
